Kyle's Forever Family.

This is Kyle.. He is 8 years old. He has Down's Syndrome. He lives in an Eastern European country.

In an adult mental institution.

An institution just like the one above.

When Kyle was born, his Mum gave him away to an orphanage.

Because he had Down's Syndrome.

The day before Kyle's 4th birthday, he was transferred from this orphanage to this institution. Kyle wasn't up all night thinking of presents and candles and cakes. Kyle was up all night listening to the cry's and moans of the dozens of other children with Down's Syndrome who had suffered the same fate.

Kyle can be found among the faces, of the hundreds of children, on the Reece's Rainbow website. Day after day his face is passed over, ignored by many. He was one of the first children from his country listed with Reece's Rainbow. He has LITERALLY been waiting for years.

Kyle was what lead me to first finding out about Reece's Rainbow. I saw his face on a friends wall and i just had to find out more. Once i had seen him i could not get him off my mind. Every time i closed my eyes at night i could see his face. Every time i daydreamed it was about how i could save him.

I can't tell you exactly what it was, but i just knew in my stomach that i had to move for him.

I showed Kyle's RR page to Ben and explained that he didn't have a mum or dad like Ben did. He fell in love with him immediately. He also felt drawn towards Kyle in the same way i had. In a way neither of us could explain.

Since then, me and Ben have been prayer warriors for Kyle and have spoken about him often. Ben tells me that him and Kyle are 'Brothers in the heart' and that he wants my mum and dad to adopt him.

So over the Easter/Spring break, Ben and I decided it was time we moved mountains for Kyle. It was time we stopped just speaking about him and found him his forever family.

'Please help save Kyle. He's just like me. Love from Ben Smith.'

We thought that Kyle would have a much bigger chance of finding his forever family if he was in the sizable grants category on Reece's Rainbow. A category for children with a grant over $2500. Kyle's grant is currently at $1600, which means we are aiming to raise $900 for him!

BUT...

Here's the thing.

We don't have any snazzy prizes. We don't have hundreds of followers. And we don't have much time.

BUT...

We do have passion and we do have faith. Faith that our DS community will help us move mountains for Kyle. Faith that Kyle's family is out there waiting for him just like he has been waiting for them. Ben loves this little boy so much and he needs to see him home!

I have never been more dedicated to bringing a child home and i am on my knees begging each and everyone of you to help find this little boy the family he deserves! I will not stop advocating for Kyle until he has found his family! We will not stop!

I know $900 is alot to raise, but i really believe we can do it! If just 90 people donated $10 Kyle would be moved right into that Sizable grants category!

You can chip into Kyle's grant via our chip in in the top right hand corner, or directly to Kyle's RR grant by clicking HERE! Both are tax deductible and will go directly to Kyle's grant!

But this isn't just about money! We are trying desperately to find Kyle a family! So PLEASE get his face out there! Tell all your friends and family about him! Make Kyle famous!

PLEASE PLEASE HELP! I AM BEGGING! FIND THIS ANGEL A FAMILY! I KNOW THEY ARE OUT THERE! IT COULD EVEN BE YOU!

Happy Birthday Rebecca: Let's get these babies home!

Let me ask you... What would YOU like for your birthday?

Maybe it's a new pair of shoes. Perhaps a piece of Jewellery you have had your eye on for a few months. A DVD? A gym membership? A weekend away?

Maybe, like my friend Rebecca, all you want for your birthday is your family around you.

See tomorrow morning, the 9th of April, is my friend Rebecca's birthday, However, this years birthday will be different to all the others. You see, when Rebecca goes to sleep tonight , she will not be wishing for a new pair of shoes, or a weekend break with her husband. When Rebecca goes to sleep tonight she will be wishing and praying (as she does every night) that her two babies, Sydney and Lucien, are safe in their orphanage in Eastern Europe and will soon be snuggled, forever, in her arms.

So... Tomorrow morning, the 9th of April, We are asking you to help Rebecca's wish come true. We are asking for your help to save to beautiful children! There is only one thing that stands between Rebecca and her babies, and that one thing is $10,000!

We need every single one of you behind us on this one! We need all of you to help get these babies home where they belong!

Some of you reading this will know my friend Rebecca. Some of you will know what an amazing, kind and caring lady she is. However, some of you will not. However, you will know what it means to love a child. You will might even know how it hurts not to be with them everyday. Please, whoever you are, consider helping this amazing lady get to her amazing babies!

Every person who donates via our chipin, or shares this post on FB or their blog, will be entered into a superb giveaway we are running!

Thankyou for always sticking with us!

Be the change!

"Be the change you wish to see in the world" ~ Gandhi
It's so often we feel a passion to change something. So often we feel as if we can not.
How many times are you left saying "I am just ONE, I can't change that"?
For me, it is often.
Then, something happens. I am reminded of Gandhis words and inspired to act.
December 2010, I questioned my power with 3 other girls. We decided to be the change.
We watch children come home every day. We watch children come home because of US, because we decided to be the change.
The reality is there are millions and millions of children dying, when they do not need to! Because they are waiting for people to help them!!
This is where we need to stand together and BE THE CHANGE!!!
$25,000.....
2 beautiful children....
who need a mirical....
are you their mirical?
We are asking you to look into your hearts. Ask yourself if what you see is OK!
No? Then we ask you to BE THE CHANGE!
please... share on your facebook, pray for these children and their family, donate to bring them home!
Together we can do this! :)
Thank you for everything you do xo

We're ready for you: Waiting on a ransom.

A long way across the ocean, two 'soon to be' siblings, Sydney and Lucien, have no idea of the gift they are soon to recieve...
The gift of love.

They also have no idea that hundreds and thousands of miles away in a bedroom in Vancouver, WA, a father is hand painting the walls and waiting for the moment he can hold his first baby.
A  loving Mother, is fretting and fussing and making sure every last detail is absolutely perfect.
They are still to learn that excited siblings are anxiously waiting to envelope them with love. To teach them and to protect them for always.

And...
Little do they know, that all over the world, there are people praying for them, supporting them and loving them! That a community bought together by trisomy 21 are celebrating them, because of the extra special something they have, that in their home country, made them orphans.

Last month i recieved this email off Rebecca, Sydney and Lucien's mummy to be:

'Hi Sunny :)  a friend of mine sent me your way in hopes that you could help. We are adopting Sydney and Lucien. We will be traveling in April and because of the country we are adopting from we will only be making one trip so we need to have ALL the money BEFORE we fly out. We are still VERY short on funds. Is there any way you can help? Maybe putting our fsp on your blog? Anything would be great, we still need to raise twenty-five thousand dollars BY APRIL!!! Thank you !'

Now i am very aware that $25,000 is alot of money to raise, an amount some may say is impossible to raise! But i have seen our community rally. I have prayed and watched you move mountains. I have faith, in god and in all of you! I have faith that these babies will come home!

Until the end of March the girls at 'to love the unloved' are asking for help from all of YOU!
World Down Syndrome Day will take place on the 21st of March. A day to celebrate everything we love about our friends and family with an extra special something! A time of accceptance and love! We would be honoured if you supported our cause on WDSD!
DOWN SYNDROME FAMILY!
